Media Use Policy
1. What is your policy on using media, such as photos, audio or video on the website or other publicity?
Answer: We use a combination "Opt-Out/Opt-In" policy: for adults, we assume that you agree to allow your image, etc., to be used unless you have filled out a Media Release Opt-Out Form for yourself or other members of your family. For minor children (under 18), we will always request your permission by asking you to complete a Media Release Opt-In Form, which will give explicit permission for us to use your child's image.
2. I am fine with your using my image, because I’m an adult, but I really don’t want my children’s photos up on the web. What should I do?
Answer: Our policy for using media that includes minor children, is to contact the parent and request explicit permission by completing our Media Release Opt-In for Minors form. If you never want to be contacted about the use of your child's image, then complete the Media Release Opt-Out Form and list only your children’s names on the Opt-Out List at the bottom.
2. I do not want you to use images of anyone in my family. What should I do with this form?
Answer: Complete the Media Release Opt-Out Form and list every the names of every family member, including your own, on the Opt-Out List at the bottom.
3. It’s fine with me if you use images of me and my family. What should I do?
Answer: You don't have to do anything. If we decide to use media that includes your minor child, we will contact you and request that you give explicit permission by completing our Media Release Opt-In for Minors form.
4. Do my children need to fill out their own forms?
Answer: If your children are under18 and you do not want their images used, then you need to fill out the Media Release Opt-Out Form and list their names in the Opt-Out List at the bottom. If your children are 18 or over and do not want their images used, they should fill out their own Media Release Opt-Out Form.
5. Can I fill out one Media Release Opt-Out Form for myself and my spouse/partner?
Answer: Yes, just include both names on the Opt-Out List at the bottom of the form.
6. What if I change my mind about media use later?
Answer: If you change your mind, please contact our Office Administrator, someone on the Website Committee, or any member of the Board of Trustees.
